      I’m almost sure that Phoenix Man’s origin story will be covered later, but in case it was left on the cutting room floor:

      He was in the costume as a character in a children’s television show.

      Hence the irony in having him fight Child Emperor.

      If you can imagine the puppeteer being stuck inside Big Bird from Sesame Street, for example.
