It’s not confusing at all once you realize that republicans have no principles and will do whatever their strongman/Daddy says, especially when there’s money involved.
Just look at the number of them who promptly did a 180 on their beliefs once trump won in 2016. Who can forget Raphael having his wife insulted constantly by and attacked trump himself, only to end up a lap dog for Trump with no real pushback
