I think it’s kinda funny walking back and forth between left-wing and right-wing spaces because depending on where you are, the world is in vastly different places according to both.
Something like Twitter has never done better and bluesky is on its way out according to right-wing spaces. Meanwhile here, people are talking about how Twitter is dead and bluesky is on the rise.
I can’t confirm or deny either because I refuse to use either service, but I do find it both amusing and a little concerning just how far apart from each other these two camps are when it comes to having a read on what’s happening in the world.
Twitter is going to give us full Dead Internet theory. The only real humans left on there see all the bots and can’t tell them apart because the people are idiots in the first place.
That being said, Bluesky seems to be 30% bots when I rarely get on it, and maybe I’m just not seeing the daily active users, but my spouse just stopped checking it because nothing punching her cortisol button was happening there.
Tbh, Dead Internet Theory applies almost everywhere.
Lemmy might just be far too small for it to work here. (For comparison, measured by activity and monthly active users, Lemmy is smaller than both the Linus Tech Tips form and the Crackberry forum.)
Yea, far too many lefties refuse to admit how mainstream fascist fucking retards are. Yes, that word is fully appropriate describing the fools that should know better.
If I remember correctly, the original intent with Twitter was that it was supposed to function as a platform where performers, such as musicians and comedians etc. could make announcements to their fans. Over time it just became a forum for people to bicker out of context at one another.

A large user base of gullible morons is exactly what advertisers want though
So, what you’re telling me is that both sides are right and wrong simultaneously :b

I’m saying they’re both somewhat right. Being correct about something subjective isn’t 100% black and white.

(I thought retards were part of the left protectorate now. Looks like pointed towards the right goal tho. Black jersey, red numbers, right? jk, sk)
The whole concept is a proven failure. People just don’t have that many insightful things to say.
