I’m not saying it’s necessarily NSFW content

The amount of furry / anime content on the front page might be putting off some new users
0-comment posts should be at the bottom of the default feed for this reason. That way new users don’t get scared by the awkward silence
Yeah Piefed is great. It’s a night and day difference in experience really

2·7 days agoTo clarify:
- TVs running pisignage in the building should stay as they are
- Mobile tv’s (they have wheels) should be fitted with the new system. They don’t have any pisignage and are currently connected with a laptop via hdmi, which is a pain since we can’t use that laptop for anything else then
We use google slides for everything. In the best case the coaches just update the slides and import the url somewhere, like we do with pisignage

1·8 days agoWe’re already using raspberry pi’s running pisignage, which are showing google slides (amongst other stuff) in the building. The only downside is that pisignage only supports automatically advancing slideshows. We need something where the coaches can advance the slides in their own speed.

1·8 days agoWe offer digital workshops for teenagers. We have tv’s around the building for signage use and for the occasional screen mirroring. Then we have mobile tv’s on wheels to use for welcoming presentations while new participants sign in. Currently we use laptops for that but it’s a pain and takes time when we need to find a laptop somewhere and set it up for each screen and laptop. Preferred would be something that can just dangle from the back of the tv and we could update the assets on it via wlan. This should be doable.

I’m already using https://pisignage.com/ for automatically advancing slides in the building. Now I just need a simple presentation tool to manually advance the slides during classes

This is a great idea and reading through all these other replies points the same direction. I will try just that!
Ok so I just installed Navidrome and the web UI looks modern and promising. However it seems to have the same bug as other services I tried earlier: If the artist name or album name has any umlaut letters (like ä, ö, ü) then all tracks on that album are displayed twice on my mobile client (have tried substreamer, ultrasonic, tempus). Any idea what’s causing that for me?
Thanks! Checking it out right now!

2·28 days agoAfter using this app (v4.5) for a few days, I’d say it’s otherwise great, but I’m getting server is unreachable errors after 1-2 songs in a queue. I disabled battery optimization for the app already, so that shouldn’t be the issue…
I especially love the way this app removes duplicates being added to playlist. Wonder why so many other clients don’t get that right…
The buffering options could be more transparent (like how many songs are pre-loaded for instance)

2·1 month agoThis looks really good! I’ve been desparate to find a good subsonic client, since the ones I use aren’t updated anymore
Interesting. I find flooding Lemmy with 0-comment posts rather a disservice to it instead. I come here for the discussion, not for random links to articles.

Way to blame the victim!
This is a result of anti-competitive business practices and legislative capture in the U.S. It’s not going to change until things change over there or until the rest of the world decouples from them somehow.
