Oh I remember this. They also had an episode where all they were talking about is what the next season should be about, with every character pitching in their suggestions.

It’s honestly weird that they don’t just wait till the source material has enough material to do the season.

Because long running anime makes more ad money from TV. Streaming might make filler episodes a thing of the past, but this clip is from maybe 15 years ago.

Might? I don’t think fillers even exist anymore. The only old style shonen left are black clover and my hero

Depends on what you mean filler I guess. Like padding or stretched runtime as opposed to whole filler arcs like in bleach or Naruto.

Are anime-original episodes considered filler too? Because the last episode of Makeine is anime-original, though the author wrote the story.

And there’s also The Promised Neverland S2 and Wonder Egg Priority, from what I remember.

There aren’t usually whole filler episodes anymore but there’s a lot of weird fluff in Demon Slayer that wasn’t in the manga.

I was going to argue the practice bleeds away audiences, but i guess this was for kids tv and kids are both stupid and left with not a lot of options for tv.
